Located
in 2-87, Wonhyo-ro 1-ka, Yongsan-ku, "Yongsan
Cultural Center" is the center of the region's
cultural activities and events. Land coverage
of 650 pyung, and usable space of 157 pyung, it
was built from October 1997 and completed on October
13, 1998. Run by a private organization established
on December 9, 1997, the Center is comprised of
29 executive directors from the academia, finance
and cultural arts fields, and over 300 members. |

In addition to
seminars on cultural arts, the Center offers art
exhibitions, music concerts and other high quality
cultural projects to satiate the District residents'
thirst for enhanced cultural life style. In the
Center's backyard is a natural monument of Wonhyoro
Baeksong, where it is known for celebrities during
Chosun Dynasty to have frequently visited to enjoy
the views of Han River. Former Minister of Transportation,
Mr. Kim Il Hwan, served as the first Director
of the Center |
